The Department of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering has a distinguished history and a tradition of excellence in teaching, research, and services dating back to 1873. There are three main broad research areas: Solids and Structural Mechanics, Structural Engineering, and Geotechnical Engineering.
These engineering programmes are now part of a wide range of undergraduate courses, allowing students to undertake accredited degree programmes for both the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Architecture.

La conferenza riunirà architetti, ingegnieri e matematici di tutto il mondo per diffondere la conoscenza delle tecnologie avanzate, arrivando ad una comprensione di strutture complesse e non lineari esplorando tematiche storiche e ontologiche tra architettura e ingegneria.
